Prevention could have meant the world, and tempered response the key to recovery.

thinking this morning about that autumn day… We could have recovered from the

In the Shadow of No Towers

attack.

I was there in NY, and there was a difference in response between those nearby/affected and those watching on TV from homes and underground bunkers.

They were hurt.

WE were hurt.

Not offended.

Not challenged.

We were hurt. The world was sick, and the global community had seen this festering ailment erupt. The wound was deep, and the cause even deeper.

But, like too many of our actions, the response itself was perhaps the most destructive.
We didn’t fix what was broken. we went at things with a hacksaw. Brutish.

A fraction of the effort toward prevention could have meant the world, and reasonable, tempered response the key to recovery.

Instead, illness continues to pervade the system. Such fools we are- big toys and still acting as children. As brutes. What ignorance we breed. And at such cost, such suffering…
